So you've got a sweet logo, and you want to have it embroidered onto something... If you don't already have a specific embroidery file, your logo will need to be digitized! Please email lock7threads@gmail with your image file, to make sure it is appropriate for embroidery before purchasing this listing.

But what does it mean to digitize an image? Here is a simplified explanation. Most logos are image files (JPEG, JPG, PNG etc), these files are made up of pixels to create your image. Embroidery machines run on an X Y grid system- the needle stays in one place, while the item is moved left, right, forward and back to create your image in stitches. But no embroidery machine can read image files, sadly. It's not "printing on fabric in stitches"... Rather it's a complex formula. Embroidery machines have their own language so to speak! Embroidery files are like little mini programs, with step by step instructions that the embroidery machine reads and follows. The file will tell the machine which thread colour to use, where and what direction, how wide and how dense to make the stitches etc. It's actually a lot of info to get it just right!

So what does this all mean? Essentially, if you have an image file, this file needs to be sent to a digitizer - a professional person who creates embroidery files from images. To get an amazing quality embroidered item, we need a high quality file. A digitizer who knows their stuff! Files are created differently if they are for hats, sweaters vs T-shirts, since these all need different density. People study the art of digitizing for years to develop this skill. We outsource this task, because we want the absolute highest quality file for your logo. There is a fee for this service. That's where this listing comes into play! This listing should be used when you have an image/logo that you want converted into an embroidery file. This does not apply to the dozens of font options we offer, as they are already digitized... This is *ONLY* if you are asking for an image to be embroidered for the first time. It's a one time fee, and the embroidery file is kept on record here for any future orders.

Our shop policy is that if you have paid us to have a file digitized, then that embroidery file belongs to you. You can ALWAYS request to have it emailed to you, and you can take it to any embroidery shop you wish. We would never want you to have to pay this fee again at another shop in the future. We got your back!
